石英材料可透過紫外線光譜,是所有透紫外線最佳之材料,可見光及 近紅外線穿透率>93%。由於其結構、雜質含量、OH、Na、Co等含量 ,是影響光譜穿透的主要因素,氧原子結合不良,在240 ~ 270nm波段 ,會產生較為明顯之吸收波峰。
石英玻璃亦可依客戶需求,在表面上鍍膜層
